Gene Hackman in Mississippi Burning, Hoosiers, The Firm.

yeah, he's good. i liked him in 'Heist'.

clive owen used to annoy me, I saw him in that angelina jolie movie about the regugee bomb things and he just got on my nerves, then I saw him in the king author movie and now I like him... hah.

Denzel Washington in He got Game, Malcolm X, and Philadelphia.

Tom Hanks in Forest Gump, Big, and Philadelphia.

Harison Ford in Regarding Henry, India Jones series, and The Fugitive.

i like denzel too, but what i like most about him has little to do with acting. ; )

i'd like to see him take on a role that's a bit outside of the box. with the exception of the very excellent Forrest Whitaker, it seems that few black actors get hired for unconventional roles.

Have you heard of yet? Good for list makers. I'm hooked on it. Also Edward Norton in Painted Veil = smoldering! Insanely so.

1. Clive Owen in anything. 2. Ed Norton in Fight Club and Painted Veil. 3. James Purefoy in any period piece. 4. Gene Hackman 5. Anything Denzel, but yes roles are predictable.

Peter O'Toole in Lawrence of Arabia, Becket, & The Lion in Winter. Richard Burton in Anne of a Thousand Days & The Taming of the Shrew
Also, my dear sad Owen Wilson in Bottle Rocket, The Royal Tennenbaums & Zoolander

I'd add Christian Bale in Batman Begins.
The first actor to play not just the guy in the bat suit, but the trouble man in the regular suit as well.
And Clive Owen in Children of Men. Regular guy pulled into the battle for humanity.
And Clive Owen as Dwight in Sin City.
Yeah, it doesn't hurt that these guys both have the tall/dark/handsome thing goin' on.
Hey Wanette, for Denzel "out of the box" you need to see TRAINING DAY.
He got the Oscar for that one because the year that movie was out, he was also in John Q, which was a more "Denzel" like role.
In Training Day, he showed everyone that he is an ACTOR.
Me? I love Tom Hanks...and I'm waiting for him to show me his Dark Side like Harrison Ford did in "What Lies Beneath".
